    Anyone got one of these?
    Are they any good?
Seems a decent price it's that or the supersprint but this is cheaper And raceland needs things moved etc.

Mate, loads of ppl are running these manifolds.

Don't think the ebay one is a raceland, is it? Not sure...the race land needs oil filter moving though so if the ebay one is the same i would pass.

Hate to point out the obvious but it says protech in the ad lol

Look at the length of the primary pipes ..

and then compare to the very well designed Supersprint

I know which one I'd choose. Even the raceland looks better put together

i've not had first hand experience with the protec one but does look simular to the raceland. i had a raceland on my vts and it did seem to pull off the mark alot better with it on, the racelands do tend to run hot tho, here is a pic of anotehr memebers to show u jsut how hot they do run

and here is a pic of mine that i heat wrapped in alutex

with the raceland it is as the metal is quite thin compared to other ss manifolds

    Fookin hell, didnt know that.

Im pretty sure metal is prone to crack or distort when temperatures like that are reached arent they?
  13. #13
only when cooled / heated rapidly..

The advantage of the thin material is weight and cost. The downsides are reduced longevity
  14. #14
    Oh i see.

So because the raceland manifold is built outta stainless steel as with the supersprint, im assuming the material of the supersprint is of a better quality, hence the price diff?

I think it is a case of you get what you pay for.

Ive never seen my Piper 4-1 glow like that but then Ive never looked under the bonnet while driving

I think 10bhp claim should be taken with a big pinch of salt aswell
