VT front conversion mk1 into mk2

  1. #1
    Has anyone ever done this?
Converting the front end of a mk1 VT into a mk2?

I'm thinking about it, as there aren't so many headlight options for the mk1
(I like the mk2 clear hadlights with the black background)

Also, i'd like the procomp badboybonnet, but i've seen it doesn't seem to fit the mk1 very well...
(it seems, on the left front side?)

or has any1 had the same problem with the mk2 bonnet aswell?

And, finally, what parts other than the bonnet and lights would I need? the front wings too, I guess? And are the non-VT wings the same, so I could just drill the holes for the mk1 arches?

I might be totally wrong here, but i'm sure i read in PGTi that Gaz (GSMotorsport) did the front end conversion on his car.

O.k here you go, my car below

    Mk1 ---> mk2 as from www.triplexxxtreme.co.uk

    What you need is:

    Bonnet
    lights
    Slam panel
    Wings

This is the same car in both photos below:

    Ok thanks!
I can go and collect now...

The slampanel is welded in, I believe?

But, could I also use non VT-wings? are they the same? (apart from the holes for the arches)

actually not the wings do have slightly differences which are hard to tell till lining up so go get some new ones...

Also the MK1 slam panel needs cutting away by about 3 inches on both sides from the chassis
