yo yo, started modding my new 1.1i sax, wondering which engine to stick in, VTS or VTR and how much work is involved.
1.1 to VTS / VTR

#2if your changing it then mighrt as well get VTS

pretty easy actually, providing you know what your doing and dont cut corners and get things on the "cheap".
The actual change itself is really easy, you can have it done in about 1 day or 2 at the most. -
#3Why not jus buy a vtr/vts save alot of hassle
-
#4cos im fully kitting up my mk1, the appearance is gonna be sweet, im only pissed about the engine size so i thought id drop in a 1.6 vts engine.
can get one of ebay with uprated cams for £300 -
#5will i be able to change the dials as well (over 110 and rev meter)?
-
#6i dont think you can change the dials only, i think you have to buy the clocks complete, then change dials
I don t know how it works on MK1 version but i have a MK2 1.1 and i stuck a MK2 VTS engine in and changed the clocks for MK2 VTS clocks and the temp gauges on either side of the clocks dont move. They work and all the lights appear, but they just dont do anything
after counting wires in the back i realised the loom was missing a few more wires compared to what the VTS loom has -

Jus sit at the lights wi a crappy corsa nxt 2 u and blow them AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYY

im gonna go to my nearest citroen garage and ask them how to do a full convert, my bodykits arriving on tuesday and i hinted to my old man about the sale on at halfords (alloys!).
thx for ur help lads -
#9u going to have to get some pics of it, through the stages, see what ur doing!!
And obviously the finished beast!!
U just going to use a standard vts with upgraded cams, is that it?
U got any other plans for the engine?? -
#10Where abouts in Manchester could u get a conversion done?>
-
#11will have (stage 1) pics up by friday hopefully, its at the bodyshop at the mo.
-
#12nice one, whats it having the bodykit done at the mo ?
-
#13yeah, bodykit getting put on then sprayed, think thats done now, then its gettin moved the garage i got it from for a full "proper" service, the back brakes locked up about 2 days after i got it. fucking used car salesmen!
-
#14a fairly simple change but you must uprate everything including brakes and suspension as your 1.1 wont be up to the power the vtr/s puts out.
-
#15absolutely ^^^ , not a hard job either.
-
#16got a vtr engine if ur interested???150.00 with everything u need!
-
