ive seen it done on a mates a car and using the heat gun turned his bump strips loads darker. i want to do it because my bump strips have gone grey but surely using a heat gun next to your paint cant be good.

is it a big no no to use a heat gun next to your paint or is it ok as long as your careful

    any help appreciated

its ok as long as you dont keep it in the same to long,

but ive heard that a heat gun will turn them back to black, i might have a go later on mine.

Have ya tried Autoglym Bumper care? That's what I use when my plastics start to lose their colour.

yeah ive tried it and at the min the bumpers are too grey to go black they just go a dark grey so i need to bring the colour back into the bumpers then use the bumper care on them

i wouldnt risk it tbh, could damage the lacquer because of the heat. i think the best bet is to keep using black2black, if not then respray them black

use plastic bumper spray you can get from Halfords

Personally i wouldnt use the back 2 black sprays etc as they are all oil based and once they dry in they for a few days they will add to your bumper fading anyway. I use autoglym bumper care.. so id recommend that..
