Urgent help, raceland manifold fitting gone wrong!!!

  1. #1
Right I am fitting a raceland manifold to a 106 GTI and the lamda sensor looks like it won't reach the bit in which it goes into on the manifold. I have put the sleave onto the lamda sensor but it still doesn't look long enough. Can anyone shed some light into my problem?

Also does the 106 GTI phase two (2003 plate) have two lamda sensors?

    Rep given for helpage

I think all Y reg+ models have a Lamda in the manifold as well as the cat.

You should beable to unclip it from the engine so it gives you more slack, i cant remember exact but you just have to push/pull the red bit

you have to unclip the lambda wiring and run the lambda down and over the back of the gearbox then it will reach, remember to cable tie the wire tho or the driveshaft might catch it when driving

follow the cable up from the sensor, to see where it goes to the main loom, you should see where you can re route it then

    Ahh brilliant thankyou fellas.

One more thing, where abouts would I have to cable tie the lamda sensor so it won't catch on the driveshaft? Or will this become apparent when I am underneath the car?

when you are under the car you will see where is suitable for you to tie it, some people will prefer different locations, you just need to make sure its away from moving parts or sharp edges obviously.
