-
#5do they sound crap? im after a nice sounding filter? i have a green one at the moment but it doesnt seem to make much noise? as im more after a nice sound than performance was wondering about pipercross as i had seen an s spec one and a pipercross one in stock at a place near me.

#6The box around the filter will make the noise that you are looking for I bet...
-
#7wat do you mean box around the filter? i know your probably being sarcastic... but seriously what is a nice sounding air filter?
-
#8I'm not mate.
For example, a lot of induction kits come with a box around the filter, to help prevent the intake of warm, engine bay air. This box is what causes the noise you are after, I'm fairly sure of it. -
#9for noise id say K&N or a pipercross open filter
-
#10arnt enclosed low noise more performance and open more sound no performance
-
#11I don't think so personally... The box around the filter creates an echoing noise I reckon chap.
-
#13In fact, I remember when I first installed that "forced air" kit from Ecosse. This was before I had an aftermarket exhaust, so the car was quiet. Well, the noise from that was hilarious!

#15cool thanks everyone, my green cotton one was an enclosed one anyway. but like i know im not gona get much out of a 1,4 anyway so at least ill make it sound like it has power, lol.
