Raceland manifold fitted ... but one more question

  1. #1
I finished fitting this on tuesday, then went away for a day - hence the slow post...

I was not expecting much, but, I cannot notice ANY difference between the car with the old manifold and the car with the new manifold... Power delivery seems exactly the same, as does how freely it revs. Sounds much the same as well...

My question is, my exhaust is still standard ... is this the problem? Should the manifold with just a BMC enclosed filter and standard exhaust do anything?

    Sorry about the noob questions!

    Cheers

fitting a manifold? did you expect the afterburners to kick in?

its normal to not feel alot.

Lol no, but I was expecting something ... maybe just a tiny difference in how the car revs, or sounds, or anything really ...

When i fitted mine i noticed a tiny difference..not alot though but as i always say, IMO 4 branch manifolds and exhaust systems are just bases for future engine tuning like cams etc..Only then will all these mods be really worth while..

    Fair enough.

Just out of interest, what was the tiny difference you noticed when u fitted your manifold?

Just seemed i had to use slightly less throttle to go along like..Didnt notice anymore grunt really just could feel that the gases in the exhaust were flowing better..VVVV hard to explain but i know what i mean..

i noticed a small change too, but i also fitted a de-cat and full system at the same time.

    Lol - fair enough.

Just I was expecting to notice something, even if it was just a slight change in exhaust note ...

    Oh well ...

for that you want to de-cat, that should give a slight change in note.
