Noisy VTR

   Hi guys,
   
   My first post
   
   Anyway i've got a MK1 VTR as a runabout after my scooby and i'm finding it really fun TBH
   
   The only problem i have is the engine seems really noisy! I performs pretty well and always starts etc and idles perfect but it sounds so tappety..is this normal???

   can be comman think tappets will need re-setting easy job for a mechanic

   Thought it might be...can i do it myself with a feeler gauge and normal tools? Don't suppose tyou know the settings without me buying a haynes?? lol
