how easy is a gearbox change

   how easy to change a gearbox me and my dad do have a bit of mechincal know how between us but we arnt really pros lol
   
   or would it be easier to take to a garage?? and how much would it cost??

   its not hard just awkward. can take forever if your not using proper lifts/ramps

   Is pretty simple mate. Is all just nuts and bolts. All you really need is a trolley jack and a bit of wood to support the engine if you dont have the correct tools. Will probley take a while tho, first time i changed a clutch on a westcoast it took me about 7 hours all in all!!

   its a bastard, not in terms of how much skills you have, just at how bloody awkward it can be when the box doesnt want to slot on the engine properly.
   
   we usually use 2/3 trolley jacks and something supporting/spreading the weight of the engine.

   i have no skills, its a bastard need a couple of people jacks etc, time consuming, hardest part is getting the fucker back on
