using an intercooler

   this maybe uterly stupid, but you dont know unless you ask.
   
   intercoolers are used to lower intake temps for turbo or super charged cars, so my question is, could it be possible to use an intercooler on an n/a car with a large open filter on one end and the other on the throttle body?
   
   i only thought this as then you could run a larger more effiecent open cone, but still keep it cool.
   
   or is this just utter poo?

   Yes you could use it but it wouldn't cool the air as you think it would....
   
   Turbo's glow when raped, to give you an idea of how hot they get..... So the air is put through an intercooler to bring the temps down from silly hot...
   
   Having an intercooler with an air filter on the end would just slow the air flow down, go for an enclosed kit that sucks in cold air from the front of the car..

   i wasn't really thinking of getting one, i just thought was it a possible thing to do or complete load of tosh.
   
   will prob stick with the stock aibox for now as i want tb's and newman ph3 cams in the not to distant future.
