#2you can remove the doorcard fabric then reapply it, or even replace it with something nicer (i really dont like the vts pattern
) predator_vtr did it, he's probably got a guide somewhere on how to do it.
but i dont get what you mean about the rear cards?
they just completly remove if you want to spray them, and they have no material in them iirc? -
#3some base models had all plastic front and rear door cards, so you could get them and spary them.
-
#4Yeah 1.1's had black plastic doorcards.
You could retrim your vts doorcards, I know Predator_VTR has retrimmed his in alacantra to match his interior. Might be worth having a look through his progress thread.
But yeah if you were going to retrim the material bit comes away from the doorcard. -
#5thanks guys a lot very helpful info i shall take a peek at pred's work
then maybe grab some 1.1 plastic door card i just dont want a gaping hole where the fabric used to be if u know what i mean just want plastic but sprayed silver i think
-
#6can yo re-trim a 1.1 then? i have them plastic cards..
-
#7whats behind the fabric? is it a good finish if i just peel it off or will it need a sand and spray or is it better to just re-fabric it?
-
#8you cant really peel it off. you have to take the card, remove the plastic rivets holding it in the door card, and then remove it thast way.
and not all 1.1's have all plastic door cards, but im pretty sure the ones that do will have a hole for a manual winder, so you will have to fill that hole in. -
#9its wuite easy to do but very time cosuming mate, also need two pairs of hands when trimming it with material, thats if it doesnt stretch good, you have to drill the plastic type rivets, there called heatstakes for the record
use a dremel drill or a countersunk bit to detatch the centre bit whilst trying to leave as much platic on as possible for relocation and attaching it back on purposes
once off dont forget the dooor handle pull surround, pull the old material off, and use a wire brush on the drill to remove the foam left behind
once trimmed use a soldering iron to burn through the material in the holes for relocating the panel
use g clamps to keep the panel ii place and use a soldering iron to melt the plastic back down, use bits of plastic and melt it onto the pegs so the panel is secure, i cut bits of big tie wrap to melt back on, you may have to use some self tappers and washers for the door pull, i had to on the drivers side as shown

EDIT your just wanting to spray them doh, typed all that out lol, i should really make a guide but there is already one in the premium members bit so im not doing one
as said just use some all plastic doorcards from a lower end model saxo
heres mine anyway, retrimmed in faux suede, cheap compromise to alcantara
-
#10Y not try covering the material in leather a colour of your choice personaly i think this would look better than spraying and im sure others would agree

-
#11I recently had some 1.1 plastic door cards and had them sprayed blue in the center area if you know what I mean they large rounded area of the door. It matches my vents and my interior now and I am very happy with it
