Engine Temperature Light On & Loosing Coolant

  1. #1
    Hi All,

I recently noticed my engine temperature light appear. It even does this on short journeys within a few minutes of being on.

I popped the bonnet and notice engine was hot and coolant was low. Topped up happy that I had fixed it and it happened again following day.

I popped bonnet once more and it appears that I am loosing coolant from what I think is the air inlet pipes to the engine beneath the filter...see picture..

Can anyone think I can stop this leaking as it it obviously causing the loss of coolant rapidly and im afraid to drive car.

How can i stop this a)myself? b) how much will garage charge.?

is it coming from the pipe or from the water pump??

    could it be head gasket?

    hi,
it's comming from that steal pipe that you can see, can't remember what it does, but the pipe is direct under the air filter and i think the engine idler.

At the back of the engine four steal pipes enter, presuming its air, and to the side of it is this little cut off pipe...

sorry I can be more descriptive, any ideas?

they do go but usually on well hammered engines, could be fault in factory when it was built n only just shown up
