Sump Alloy / Steel?

#2Gold.....
What engine? old TUs tend to be steel and some of the new ones are alloy -
#3Mk2 2003 VTR....
Silvertop.
Whats the official engine code? -
#4should be steel if its a Saxo VTR even the late ones
-
#5nice cheers.

#6get a magnet bud
-
#7defo steel bud as mine had to be welded (oil return im guessing? - make sure the metal pipe is welded as close to the top of the sump - above the oil level line)
-
#8GMC use to just screw the return in to the engine block as its already got a hole for it.
-
#10i took the oil feed from the oil pressure switch. the pressure may be too high their so you could take it from a remote oil filter kit if you have problems
-
#11Take the oil from a pressure switch is a good place. But no matter where you take the oil from the TU engine runs way to high pressure for just about any of the correct size Garrett, IHI, MHI and KKK out now. All you have to do though is simply restrict the oil pressure going to the turbo.
-
#12true but the main way to restrict the flow is to get an oil pressure regulater which gmc do not do any more. the way i got away with it was to use a very thin braided oil feed pipe as i was adviced to get it as thin as poss and it has done the trick for meQuote:Take the oil from a pressure switch is a good place. apparently someone on here had a big problem with the oil going straight the seals due to the high pressure from the switch (lots of smoke), he ended up taking the feed from his remote oil filter as it had less pressure their - which worked for him
