Oil Cap Blew Off?

   Hey all the other day my oil cap blew out the engine bay and covered everything in oil. Any one know why that of happened? It wouldnt of done anything to my car either would it?

   my mates did that once fucked his engine up but he is a tool and took it on the motor way lol, how long did u drive with out it on?

   i heard it fly off so turned around stoped picked the cap up and put it back on.

   ied make sure all your oil breather pipes are all clean and not blocked as that would cause pressure to build up and blow the cap off ?! just a suggestion !

   if it was properly on i cant see how it would come off, and if it did blow off, i cant see how you could put it back on cos its kept on with them metal bits

   weird i no but the car runs fine and doesnt sound any different so i am ok then yea?

   maybe it was just not on properly in the first placa and just fell off ? if so just top the oil up and run it shouldnt hurt !

   maybe its presurising as above check breathers m8 or maybe not on properly

    Could it have come loose, and fallen off but appeared to have blown off.....
