#4dnt wana sound dum but what ya mean when you say de cat? thanks lads
-
#5what exhaust do you have, is it a double boxed system??
-
#6Under your car, at the centre section (i believe) you have your cat, which is need to pass the MOT, if you remove this its just a straight through pipe. So the gas doesn't have to pass through anything in order to escape your exhaust. Therefore making the sounds much louder! Look at www.kam-racing.co.uk they have a supersprint centre section for sale for £62 but make sure you get the race version!

#7ha ent to shur m8 jst saw one i liked n brought it its a single 3inch stainless steel muff diver. jst the back box couldnt aford straight threw yet.
-
#8well de cat it is to make it louder, also open inductions are good for sound, thats about it though, pipercross are loud
-
#9thanx alot lads think im jst guna get a induction kit fitted, hopfully that should make the inprovment im looking 4,
-
#10I know my pipercross viper kit did! Look on ebay, they are cheaper than buying them brand new!

#11get an enclosed one if its open air its not good for the car, draws hot air and probs loses bhp, get an enclosed one and a de cat mate.
-
#12he wants a "deeper roar" mate, an enclosed wont provide that an open one will, if he doesnt want performance then an open one it is
-
#13Yep pred is right, my mate has the open one and it does make an incredibly throat noise, however my closed one does produce a fine roar too!

#14like every one sed get an induction kit. i had same problem and wanted to de-cat it but then wont pass the mot. if like mine you have another box in the middle of the system then get that removed. it made mine quite abit louder and cost £40 from powerflow in leicester.
-
#15MOT is what once a year? so get a de-cat and jus chnage it for the mot, and then u got an excuse to get under the car and give it a tidy up! My thoughts only or...
-
#16id say straight throught centre with no silencers, and maybe a manifold if u can afford it
-
#17sorry to hijack but is race good to have on all the time or is it better to get the road one???? i would have thought race would damdage the engine or something if its always bein used???? cheers and sorry again!Quote:Under your car, at the centre section (i believe) you have your cat, which is need to pass the MOT, if you remove this its just a straight through pipe. #18tbh i think the green enclosed makes a ace noise....
-
#19dont think its as loud as a chavvy pipercross though baz
-
#20if you've just had it fitted give it fair chance to bed in mate. when i've put new exhausts on my car it always takes about 2 weeks to sound bedded in. after a couple of weeks it will sound deeper.
-
#21no it doesn't damage it, it is called "race" because it will de cat the car so it shouldn't be used on the road.
