Locking wheel nut trouble HELP!!

  1. #1
    Hi guys

Im in a bit of trouble, i've just recently brought my brothers vtr off of him, but it needs a bit of work doin to it! so today i set about replacing the front discs and pads, but i came across a big problem..... There's no locking wheel nut key!!!!!!!

The problem is that it's due an MOT, but for it to pass the MOT it needs the front brakes doin, the thing is i haven't insured it yet cos i haven't got the cash, and the car has be declared SORN, for the past 2 months, so i cant really take it to a garage to get someone to have a look.

So i'm in a bit of a hole really , so does anyone have any ideas as to gettin them off?? i think there just standard ones from when it was new, my brother doesn't even no what a locking wheel nut is so he wouldn't of changed them.

    please help lol

Phone a citreon dealer, have some documents handy just incase they need to ask you any questions regarding the car, and they will be able to point you in the right direction!

That seems like the best thing to do at this moment in time!

    Good luck

yea basically they will try to get them off using either a specific locking wheel nut jey or indeed one which is similar in format to a skeletal key (in that it can fit a range of saxo only wheel nuts)

If absolute worse case scenario, they have all the neccessary part numbers so that if in the instance whereby they have to remove the wheel nut in a way which renders it useless for purpose afterwards, they will be able to replace it for you.

No guarantee that the above is correct, but i have heard about it before, either way they'll either be able to sort it for you, or point you to someone you can!

lol like people nicking alloy wheels dont know how to get a locking nut off. so telling him how to get it off isnt realy a big deal...

smack a smaller socket on to it
weld a socket on to it (doubt you'd be able to get the welder in to the gap though)
get a thing called a "Lock Breaker", about £30 and they just snap the socket off to pieces
