Eibach Sportline Spings, Too Low ?

  1. #1
Right i know theres loadsa threads and im jsut about to buy some eibach sportline springs 45-50mm , but i basically dont wanna go wrong.

Is this too low for a saxo, i know people are lower but i live in the countryside and the roads arnt the best.

I dont want any thing to hit the underside of my saxo tbh.

And i definally do not wanna pay 90 quid for the springs and then 175 from pug1off fitting them..

..then get home for my car to hit loadsa shit and not being able to get down my drive, that will be a kick in the balls tbh.

So honest opinions from anyone on these springs or people lowered 50mm is it too low.

Just about to order some springs as my saxo desperately needs lowering and i dont wanna go too low for my area.

30mm is safe mate go for the pro eibach

50mm can be all right, if you use uprated shocks and springs, and then set the shockers to their hardest setting.

tbh nobody else knows whe3re you live etc... so only you can be the judge of it really....

go out and check for ground clearance on your drive and stuff but as state4d above 30mm is probably your best bet

My furio (that sits about 10mm higher than a vtr as standard) is now 45-50mm lower on the eibach springs...

Nothing has caught on the underside of my car.. i have loads of mammoth speedbumps around mine and it's fine..

I have only once caught the front splitter.. when going down a hill from a carpark onto a road that sloped up.. and that was only a tiny scrape.. it didn't do any damage..

IMO it's the perfect ride height for a saxo..

hmmm. well, 30mm doesnt even look a drop tbh ! doesnt look barely any different, yes sadly enough i have gone down by pot holed drive and checked the places i think will be the worse part and theres a good 70mm clearence checking round the car, so i thought there'd be no problem but its just when i saw this its gave me different thoughts:

and furioal, yes your 10 mm higher than me standard plus you have 15's ill be running on 14's

wait till i get my 30mm pro kits fitted and al give you some feedback, i thought the sport lines were alot cheaper.. more like £65

my vtr was down 40mm on spax, sideskirt used to sometimes scrape going into drive, magnex used to catch actually got stuck on a drive once, i say 30mm safe......
30mm springs will look lower on a vts though as it weights more

the sportline kit should be okay for most people. If worried though I'd play it safe and get the prokit.

i have 50mm eibach springs and i have no probs with clearence at all and handles ok
  11. #11
i know im on a safe one with handling etc, as its a great springs, literally its just the height issue, i dont live in the sticks at all, ive seen much much worse roads, and the midlands isnt exactly the himalayers.

i have no plan to change from standard exhaust so i dont need to worry about that, the town near me ive seen many lower saxo's and corsa's too, so they must manage.

i want to play it safe, but i really want the sportline spring instead of pro kit, hmm..

and steve, the springs are 78 and posted its 88 or something from kam racing, so call it 90

I'd get the sportline personally.. gives you some beer money vs getting the prokit

    mmm beeeer

ill come to blame you kam if i bottom out :O jokes.

pictures of luke's it really doesnt seem that low, and when i saw baz's car at fcs it didnt look stupidly low compared to some of the others, its just as soon as i saw that pic upwards, its given me second thoughts. garrrr.

tbh he did say it was a mega bump
  14. #14
yeah man but the back end of that car seems really quite low, slightly lower than the front if you have the back matching it might be ok

don't let that picture i posted put you off mate, that was serious huge bump! biggest thing i've every gone over and i didn't scrape. Never had any problems driving anywhere or anything scrapping the underside of the car. will be fine mate

Id say go for them, Have them on my car and not has any probs with bumps and stuff, kurbs and some bad huge speed bumps near my nans, gets over them fine tbh
  21. #21
45mm is fine imo, im bout 45-50mm down on front and i have no troubles with anything, just go slow over bumps..
  22. #22
thats the feedback i was hopeing tbh, i know im just being a fanny about it really, how low did you go on the back baz..

i was gonna go 50mm on the back, think thats what luke had too.
