what do people think of thgis as a turbo kit? saw it and thought good price, but then not to sure as it looks pretty home bodged!!

i'm not going to bid on it, but some might.

    but is it any good?

it looks ok tbh but depends how much the guy wants for it. it seems dodgy because the pic don't show the manifold properly and it is difficult to tell whether the turbo sits flat. if the turbo doesn't sit flat then it is a total waste of time. also the 250bhp figure is a bit far fetched

yeah, i thought the 250 was abit too high, maybe more like 180-210, possibly abit more.

why would it be a waste of time if the turbo isnt flat?

what amount of boost could you run on standard internals safely? (with normal headgasket too).

or do you HAVE to have forged internals?

forged pistons allow a lower compression ratio
bodge it with two head gaskets.

You want to run a lower boost either way because the rest of the car would need uprating : brakes, suspension, chasis to get full benifits

yeah i'd gather the rest would need uprating, sus and chasis is done just waiting on some 306 gti-6 brakes.

    is 2 headgaskets safe tho?

    Jack the Ripper?

Kits a bit ruff and is missing a lot. But if its all still good working order it could be used as a base for kit. But you will have to spend a lot on management IC ect to actual get a working kit out of it. So don’t spend much on it.
  17. #17
    oh right i see.

i'm after throttle bodies anyway really.
  18. #18
I rekon it was on a front ender tbh, otherwise intercooler would come with...asked the guy a few q's but dont get much out of him!

This kits been on ebay loads, never lets it go for less than £500!... for a few pipes and a used turbo thats a bit much for me...... looks a bit old

Most old turbo kits get split, so i rekon that turbo is shot.......

i been watchin it too it it went for decent money id give it a go as im sure it would re-sell im not sure tho cuz im enuf debt already, there also another turbo kit for sale with an engine but bidding starts at £500

Check his feedback too, I remember lots of complaints about the Turbo being worn out and next to useless...

theres a bit of a difference in cost between a cheapo turbo of ebay and bodies lol
