I have brought a set of lowering springs and need to know if i need to change the coilovers aswell, the springs will drop the car 40mm

saxos do not have coilovers. they have mcpherson struts. you can change the damper inserts if you want.

as above, i take it you mean dampers ? with 40 mm springs you would usually just change the springs, depends how much you wanna spend, if it was me id keep standard dampers, what springs you got ?

Not sure what amke they are as i brought them off a mate who had a saxo but never had a chance to fit them

just take them to a garage and let them fit em, they wont need anything else other than the springs..

I do work in a garage, so its not a problem, can do it myself but got to pay for car first

need to know how to lower rear torsion bar too, the correct way. not as easy as just fitting two front springs.

Yeah i know the torsion bar can be a nightmare as i have heard from people that have done it before, shouldn't be too difficult though hopefully

lol not to difficult if you have time and the tools which you should if u work in a garage

technically he is correct lol. Its just become common usage to describe struts with adjustable spring platforms as coilovers.

With a 40mm drop I would change the dampers to some of the shortened variety for optimal handling. People do get away with just fitting a quality set of springs but its not ideal
