-
#3i am interested to as i have one sat in garage
-
#4quite fiddly mate.infact, very fidly. save yourself a lot of hassle and buy yourself another box mate.
-
#5If your not very mechanically minded then i wouldnt reccomend it.
-
#6i took me a good few hours just to get 1 apart. small fiddly shit inside
-
#7cheers guys
-
#8If you've never taken one apart before then you might struggle
-
#9haha if it was a 4 speed then easy
5 speeds suck the doggies :o takes a good few hours if youve done them before... and a haynes manual doesnt cover them
-
#10Do you need any special tools to do it? I'm curious... might take the old 1.1 to bits...
-
#11not really, depends if you want to take the gear wheels off the pinions or not? then you'll need a gear puller.
-
#12i just paid 120 for it to be reconned
sweet as a nut now
-
#13Just rag it to bits...
Take pics or write down where each bits come from... should be fine.... even if it is fiddly.... -
#14i have a bust one in my garage and just want to see if i can fix it and sell it on
-
#15all i can say is the french arewankers and cannot design gearoxes. if you hav a blown diagram and some common sense you can do it easy enough.
-

#17ive got a new box ready to have dif put in when i get back from my travels
what else do i need to rebuild?
bearings and synchro's (can not remember if thats how you say it lol)?
how much will that cost?
any cheaper online? or is it just jog off to citroen? -
#18i had two gear box's and decided to make one good one out of the two faulty ones as they had different faults, stripped one quite easily then the other was bitch. the pins going through the selector forks were solid and ended up cracking the internal casing knocking them out with a punch.
time was against me to get the box rebuilt and back in my mrs's car so a got one off a mate for £60 and fitted that instead.
loads easier than a rebuild
