If you've never taken one apart before then you might struggle

haha if it was a 4 speed then easy 5 speeds suck the doggies :o takes a good few hours if youve done them before... and a haynes manual doesnt cover them
  10. #10
Do you need any special tools to do it? I'm curious... might take the old 1.1 to bits...
  11. #11
not really, depends if you want to take the gear wheels off the pinions or not? then you'll need a gear puller.
  12. #12
i just paid 120 for it to be reconned sweet as a nut now
  13. #13
    Just rag it to bits...

Take pics or write down where each bits come from... should be fine.... even if it is fiddly....

i had two gear box's and decided to make one good one out of the two faulty ones as they had different faults, stripped one quite easily then the other was bitch. the pins going through the selector forks were solid and ended up cracking the internal casing knocking them out with a punch.
time was against me to get the box rebuilt and back in my mrs's car so a got one off a mate for £60 and fitted that instead.
    loads easier than a rebuild
