VTR Drivers Side Driveshaft

Hey guys - how the hell do you remove the driveshaft from the drivers side on a 52 plate (2002) VTR? I've disconnected it from the hub and it's just hanging there but the bastard won't come out of the box. I've heard there are 3 connector pins somewhere? Everyone I ask says something different and I'm getting close to punching my wife.

    Any help appreciated.

Wrong section really mate, but - have you tried undoing the intermediate shaft housing? I think there are two bolts which attach it to the chassis. Also, try and support the shaft at the hub, otherwise you may damage the CV boot.

My bad - if a mod could move the thread I'd appreciate it. Once again the frustration results in making a tit of myself. Haven't tried that yet - the problem is that I got a new shaft (complete) from UniPart and it's apparently longer than I need. A mate of mine suggested the same as you but I'm not sure I want to start taking this thing apart incase I do something wrong. I'm pretty sure to undo the shaft housing I need to cut off one of the rubber boots?

No mate, the two shafts on the car are different lengths yes? One is straight from the g.box to the hub (passenger side) and the other longer one has an ajoining box in the middle. This is the intermediate bearing housing or a similar name. The shaft wont come out because this housing is bolted to the car and keeps the intermediate part stay in place.. IIRC!

If you become a premium member there is a guide on how to change your driveshafts.

    Cheers
