as above i think i can see the end of the gear cogs under my car is this right? and heres the story of how i noticed it. well last night or about an hour ago lol i was driving along doing about 60 next thing theres this loud noise as somethings hit the floor plan aby ideas and should i be able to see the cog?
  2. #2
where is this "cog" the only cogs that you should be able to see are from the timing belt on drivers side of the engine block.
  3. #3
oh this is going to be hard without pics erm if you look from the front of the car towards it you have the engine on the left? and the g/box on the right of it? if im correct so far then its near where the box mounts to the engine. the exhaust pipes are about 1 inch to the left of the cog again this is if you look from the front, sorry if iv over complicated it

you can see the flywheel if the cover has been knocked off.

theres a gap between the box and the engine.
  5. #5
I can't really picture it. Could you get me a pic please and I'll tell you what it is and if it's supposed to be there lol
  6. #6
sounds like hes talking about what i think it is.

    vts flywheel:

theres a gap. off the top of my head about 1/2" inbetween the box and the engine on the underside of the engine/box assembly.

theres normally a cover that fits in here to stop shit getting in to the flywheel/clutch set up.

the gap prob is about 10-12" long irc

  14. #14
as i thought. cover is gone.

im not running one on my track car because i cant be fucked lol.

but id get another one, should fit in the locking dowels inbetween box/engine. so may nee to loosen box off.

is this a problem/potential to cause a problem?sorry for the questions its just iv changed the g/box clutch kit and gear linkages in one go i dont think my poor brain can cope with more misfotrune!
  16. #16
prob when you refited the lot you didnt put the cover plate in properly, i expect the flywheel may have caught it (hence large bang) and thrown it out of the underside of the car.

excellent that would explain the noise! should have stopped for it thought nothing of it until i got back so its somewhere on the watford road. how much would this cover be?

covers are quite cheap id expect.

did you do the flywheel etc. to correct torque settings though when fitting it after clutch??

i knew what it was as soon as you said lol.

i dont know the exact name of the part or part number, though im afraid.

I had a look on euro car parts and couldn't find it. You're best off going down to Citroen and getting them to order you one in. Shouldn't take more than 2 days.

i wont go to cit now.

if i do i give random chassis numbers just to amuse me when im bored.

they have to use the fucking chasis number thing for everything even when i stood there pointing to the part i wanted on the shelf
  34. #34
£5 for the part and if theirs nothing sheared then less than 50 quid overall
