Body Conversion help?

Hey... I've got a Saxo 1.1 LX.. And am hoping to making it a VTR look alike, body wise..

I've already got a front VTR bumper..

But how would i attach the wheel arches and door panels? would i have to glue them on or something? as i think i got told it would be impossible. i've been told it's possible though..

It's completely possible, a number of people on this have performed the same conversion!

The person 'in the know' is Willsy, he has done a guide on how to convert a base model to a vtr kit which you can search in either his progression thread, or it might be a sticky in the styling section.

In essence it involves removing the flat arch kit, which is ofcourse the front bumper, rear bumper and black side strips. You then need to cut a section of the rear arches if i remember correctly, because on the base model they are flatter in design to the furio and above counter parts. Once this has been done, you place the arches of a VT kit against the car, using paint ontop of the mounting points of the VT to see where you need to drill new holes for it to go. Drill the holes, also add tiger bond seal for added effect, and thats the wide kit arches on. Front and rear bumper should be straight swap, but check out the guide i referred to for more in depth info and ofcourse pictures!!

    Hope this helps

Ok i have a problem with my front end body...

My front bumper doesnt seem to sit properly.. It seems to have dropped slightly. all the fixings seem to be in place..
the front lights don't seem to be sitting properly either as i've had them checked out and been told they're too low.. Ones too low. the other is faaaaaaar too low apparently..

And my bonnet doesnt sit properly.. I think this is mostly all done before i got the car.. But i got it for free so can't complain. But do you have any suggestions for these problems?

There a way to make it fit snugly? would i have to bend the fixing sockets back to normal or something?

The sagging of front bumpers is common but it is (unless its been in an accident) purely down to loose bolts or simply the bumper not being pushed into place properly before tightening them up.

The best way to get it fitting properly is loosen the bolts on either side of the bumper so there is free movement and also the ones that are under the headlights.

Then get a friend to push the bumper up into place flush against the base of the lights and grille (or lights and bonnet base on a mk2) and also push the bumper towards the bacxk of the car so its snug.

Visibly then this should be perfeclty in place, ask the friend to holt it tightly whilst you then do the bolts back up again (1 side at a time obviously, not half and half) they should be pretty tight and holt the bumper exactly in that position.

    .................................................. ................................

Trice, all the info you need about fitting the kit should be in there, if ive missed anything or you have any further questions feel free to give me a PM

    Good Luck

Yeah, i read that thread. Thanks for the help! i might just have a look at my front bumper in a few.. I've gotta drill some holes in one of my reptiles vivariums before i do anything. heh.

    Cheers though!
