whats the advantages of uprated ones? and what do they do exactly?
  9. #9
basicly in standard linkages you have nylon bushes and they wear away and make your gear stick sloppy and gear changing is crap and will damage your gearbox.

    with uprated linkages.
your gear changing is more direct and quicker

its a must have upgrade for those racing/track cars.

or like me i live in an area that has loads of country roads so im shifting gears all the time.

its best to get a quickshift with the linkages aswell i cant wait to fit mine i can already feel the benefits .

haha, when did I say that? In the thread yesterday I was talking about grinding the side of my spanner off so I could fit into the hole in the top of the strut, nothing about linkages though.

They should be a direct replacement.

I've got them on my ax, didn't seem to firm it up that much, the quick shift made more of a difference than the rods, although not sure how worn mine were. But at 130k miles I would guess they were getting worn if they hadn't been replaced.

My mate also uses metal ones, and his ax won it's class in whatever class of competition it races in, sure he's told me but I've forgotten! If it's good enough for Garry M it's good enough for me

  19. #19
Iv emailed asking what sort of prices we could get. Have a go at fiiting them yourself, will be fiddily but not difficult. I dont know what the cost would be for fitting them.

new to all this....but my car is grindin goin into 2nd, i know the gear linkages are very worn and defo due some new ones, but would this cause the grind ??
  24. #24
are you having to ram it into 2nd. linkages can cause grinding as it causes movemnent to the gearbox that shouldnt be there. but it could be your synchros aswell. its quite common for them to go in the lower gears.
  25. #25
sometimes it wont go into 1st, but its not grindin on that gear, just has a slight grind goin into 2nd, it doesnt feel hard to get into gear, it just feels messy if u know what i mean lol
