  1. #1
Hi guys went to a shop to buy K&N 57i and the dude says he needs to know if its got 2 Lambda Sensors. The car is a 2001 Y plate VTR(Grey cover). Please tell me how i can find this out.
  2. #2

  3. #3
first of all dont buy the k+n buy an enclosed induction kit. Yours should have 2 sensors as per other thread though i think he is only asking you that to discover if you have the 98bhp engine
  4. #4
i cant afford an enclosed induction at the moment but i will after the year
christmas is comin and i need my cash. Mine is a 98bhp so does it have 2 lambda?
  5. #5
ill get enclosed wen i can afford it after christmas but it is a 98bhp so does it have 2 sensors?
  6. #6
why waste the money you have no then?

Yes it should have two sensors, though these have no bearing on the induction kit he will be trying to find out what engine you have
  7. #7
    its not a waste though.

Its ok to start off with, u wont hear much difference when ur sitting idle, push the foot down and u will hear the roar a bit.
Dont ask me why but as it gets more used the bigger the roar.
Ive had mine in for a month and a half and it does sound cool when you put your foot right down in 2nd or third.

I know what u mean about the prices between an enclosed and a k&n, what i did was put a bid in on ebay for a green enclosed, i was impatient and got a k&ni was outbid and it ended up going for £75 (BIG FUK!!)lol

Try on there first mate, its so easy to get stuff, i usually send a postal order.
    Hope that helps mate

Well, the open filters (like the k&n) sound great but sap power. I had a pipercross filter on my vts to begin with, but when i put my foot down, the engine hesitated and wasn't as responsive. Swapped it for a Green enclosed and fuck me what a difference! No nasty, annoying flat spot and the car is way more responsive. Enclosed filters still sound meaty, but surely the whole point is power?

i am now going to get a stainless steel pipe made up to bring it to the front by the battery so it is away from the back of the engine bay. will that make much difference.
  26. #26
Probably won't hurt, but in the long run an enclosed filter is the best option.
  27. #27
Righht to shut yas all up. I got me K&N on yesterday. It pulls through the gears much better and has made the car much more responsive. It has made the car quicker and also sounds better than it did. K&N rocks.

  34. #34
what the fuck. I think you get the picture. Any help on how to work my computer
  35. #35
LMAO! Duno what you did there matey!

Anyway, back to the filters, the whole point is to get cold air into the engine. Open filters only get hot air from the engine, they have no feed of cold air from anywhere. Enclose the filter and give it a direct feed from the front of the car and you will see the difference.

point taken but is better than standered. louder AND quicker and a lot cheaper the the enclosed kit.
