   HI PEEPS CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE MAIN PROBLEMS I WILL COME ACROSS WHEN FITTING A MK2 VTS ENGINE INC LOOM, ECU ETC IN A MK1 VTR, I HAVE HEARD YOU ARE BETTER GETTING A MK FOR MK LIKENESS, I.E MK1 VTR-MK1 VTS MK2-VTR MK2 VTS. DOES ANY1 KNOW WHATTHE REAL DIFFERENCES ARE BETWEEN THE TWO CHEERS IN ADVANCE

   Main loom wiring harness has 21 pins instead of the later 19. In other words alot of cutting an shutting.
   
   Get a single plug 16v engine and loom etc instead. Read my thread.

   What year is the VTS engine & loom? If its an early 2001 or earlier you should be fine & it will still use the single plug system like the mk1's
   
   If you have any pictures of the ecu/loom from the doner VTS it should be quite easy to tell if its a single or triple plug ecu
