rigth im planning on adjusting my tappets as they are loudd and annoying, just wondering how hard it is? i have a haynes but it seems confusing to me :|

#3ah yeh well its a 98 vtr mk 1, i started to do it and realised i didnt have feeler gauges lol, think ive nearly cracked how to do it, its done 102 k the engine, so would it actually be possible to quiten the tappets?

#4I would also like to know how to adjust them and what specific tools are needed? I have a 1997 saxo 1.1 mk 1. Really noisy and exceptionally tappy!

#5ok well i did it yesterday, take the rocker cover of and spark plugs out....turn the engine over by the crankshaft...or camshaft lol either one cnt remember its 22mm neway, then u set the gaps in order set by haynes....id say make inlet a tight 0.2 and the exhaust a 0.35 pretty much it1 user thanked this post:
