GTI-6 Setup..

  1. #1
    Right Guys,

I will be getting another Saxo at some point soon and I am wanting to get the GTi-6 set up.

What do I need exactly? Are they easy to fit?

Also, can I use the same Master Cylinder?

    Thanks,

    Rep will be awarded.

if your getting VTS yes samy master cylinder can be used and should be ok

well you need the obvious of calipers, pads and disc's. Pretty sure you need the carrier aswell?

Part of the carrier will also need grinding off. WilliamsVTS has a guide on where it needs grinding.

Thats what i know to my knowledge

    Cheers Baz.

If I get them, I'll pay someone off here to fit it for me lol!

    Carriers are a defo mate.

there easy to fit simple bolt off bolt on job once the grinding has been done.
recommend getting the 23.8mm mastercylinder tho as my vts master cylinder was dangerious with it and for the sake of £20 for the bigger mc you might aswell after forking out a wad for the brakes

where can you get the 28.3 MC from? what car is it from? can it be used with the 266mm setup?

yes mark it can be fitted

its from a 406 non abs model, you need one with no abs as you dont have abs

good to know baz has listened to me when ive told him about brakes

luke the vts mc is 22 and the gti 6 is 23 no point in upgrading

when i upgraded my vts master cylinder the the gti6 one it was a huge difference, with the vts master cyulinder i had to push my brake pedal almot half way down before it started braking good and after fitting the gti6 one i jsut had to touch the pedal and it would brake great

it was a standard vts one so should have been 22 but didnt have it stamped on it jsut had the citroen part number on it. it was realy bad and it could have been a faulty mc giving me bad results but it was not leaking at all, with the standard mc and standa vts brakes i had to push the pedal 1/3 down before it started to brake, with the standard mc and the gti6 brakes i had to push it almost half way down before it started to brake, fitted gti6 mc and now i only have to touch the pedal and it brakes and i dont have to push it far probs only 1.5cm before the pedal is rock solid

Had a word with Matt (yates) today about getting the GTi-6 Setup and he gave me rough ideas of pricing...but where would you buy them from?
  16. #16
think there was a guy in the sales section selling some just now, dont think he's a well known member though
  17. #17
    Cheers mate.

i got the 266mm set up thinking i was keeping my vtr wheels an then a good offer on vts wheels came up an i bought them lol if i had jus waited would have got the gti-6 setup

im unsure if williams is selling them again, if you want a member your able to trust and sort you out then he is your man, thats if hes stil able to get them

otherwise ebay is a good bet

then just go to local motorfactors or even halfords trade bit at the back and get them there

    Another old thread...

I'm looking at getting calipers next week...shall I just Ebay them or get them brand new for piece of mind?

I'll then get the discs/pads and get them fitted. Will I need to change hoses?
