Performance Stats

I'm not sure if this should be in the performance or gearbox forum, but I'm wondering what the actual performance figures are if you fit a 106 Rallye S1 gearbox to a VTS?

I've found a thread which provides top speeds in each gear but no actual stats for 0-60, top speed and in-gear acceleration figures.

I know the top speed is reduced and the acceleration is improved due to the final drive ratio but what I'm after is a "before and after" comparison if anyone else has done this mod.

Also has anyone done the opposite and stuck a VTR box on a VTS? The FDR seems to suggest that top speed will improve significantly (158mph in 5th!) and you'll still hit 60 in 2nd gear...albeit in a slower time I would have thought!

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Check my progress thread if you like. There's vids in there of my car with the stock box and also the S1 box. Running around 150 - 160 bhp... Search for "toad's mota" and you'll find it.

You don't want a stock VTR box in a VTS. Are you sure you got that one right?

does he have his own private autobahn?

why do you want to have less accelleration but big top speed?

We've got better stats than that. I'll find the link...

But with regard to acceleration figures and 0 - 60 times, it's anyone's guess. How long is a piece of string?
