Depends on what you want your car to look like.

But if it was me i would just get the black parts refreshed and tidied up.

I think colour coding comes down to what you want to do with your car, if a smoked theme keep standard. Although silver is the best colour to get coded

Or you can get it repainted if it's very very bad and the back to black or over products like that is not working .

if you smoke lights and maybe spry your wheels a dark grey or black then the black will look great .

Or you can get it color coded and leaver the lights and wheels standard .

It's really up to what you want in the end and what your happy with , because if you go with the most vote on it, E.g, if a lot of people same keep it standard and you do then you don't like it then you wont be happy or even if it goes the other way and you do color code it and then your happy then your kind of stuck then .

Sorry if dont make any sense but i'm still asleep .

yeah, comes off pretty easily, but its not hard to keep it on just the plastic.

as said really, depends what you want the car to end up like.

mine's going track slag, so i just back to black the plastics every wash so they look tip top and as its a black car i dont think it needs the colour coding.

whereas if your going for a clean smooth look, then colour coding will help, as you wont be drawn to the black plastic.

this should help for the headlights, also applies to the fogs, as they are done the same why.

I wouldn't bother for a number of reasons..

    1. The car's colour isn't broken up at all so looks too much..

    2. The bump strips are there for a reason, incase you scuff your car, but as they are black it doesn't really show up but if coulor coded then will show up and look terrible..

    3. On most of the colour coded Saxo's i have seen the paint tends to flake off after time, this also looks terrible..

Thats just my opinion on it and thats why i have never done it..

if you are going for the smoked theme then ,

smoke your headlights your self , guide somewhere on here ,

    smoke your fogs,

Get some smoke rep's of Ebay about £12 .

Then get standard mk1 rear lights as they have the top half slightly smoke already .

then you could even get your alloys sprayed in a dark grey or black ,
and spray your rear badges black and the front chevrons .

Soulless is on about having his colour coded iirc... Think he has some photo's in his progress thread...
  36. #36
when we say smoked theme, does that mean your rear lights and front got to be the same colour as the paint, or black?

Or is it just whatever the person doing it decides?
  37. #37
On an Icelandic grey I would not colour code it imo, i prefer it with the bump strips.
  38. #38
Smoked is like, with black front lights, rears, side repeaters and fog's in my eyes.
