Modifying Grill - Help Please

   Right I want to modify my exisiting Mk2 grill. At the moment it is totally original. I have seen a guide on here that shows you how to mesh the standard grill but I'm a bit confused on the bit where the backing has to come off. Does it have to come off or can I just mesh on the back of it once I have removed the slats ??

   I recommend spraying the grill so it looks shiney and clean.
   
   I rivetted the mesh on.

   Thanks m8 but that the guide I was talking about. Got confused at why the backing had to come off if the mesh is place on the back of the backing ??

   so it sits more flush with bonnet mate
