what brakes???

    am putting together my 4stud kit as am converting from 3stud for those who dont know lol.

    need new pads and discs for the front (drums at the rear). i believe the struts are of a 1.4 but know for definate that they had solid discs on.....

    can i fit vented discs on?
    what pads and discs should i get?

    You won't need anything special, I'd just go for the Mintex packs off eBay.

    If you really want to spend more then Brembo Max discs and Mintex 1144 pads.

    You could upgrade to bigger brakes but that depends on the size of your alloys. 206 GTI 180's are a very popular choice but they only fit uner 15" and bigger sized wheels. Looking at £150 for a decent set.

    just bought a mintex set of ebay to get me started. will prob upgrade then as will be rinning wolfrace street octane alloys on a 15" so if the gti 180s will fill the gap then why not lol.

    206 gti 180 266mm set up will fit under your 15's easily

    266mm are a reasonable upgrade and will fit under all 15inch wheels. Might be better upgrading to the 283mm ones which should still fit under the vast majority of 15inch wheels, and if not yours then just a slight shaving off the carrier would cure that.

    In the long term and depending what budget you have 4pots are reasonably priced

    saxoboy07 - just noticed your sig. your torque figure is down on standard. wouldnt worry about the RR results though just thought id point it out.

    ah right i don't think the rolling road was acurate on that result will do more mods then i will be up on standard
