Problem after lowering

  1. #1
After having my saxo lowered 50mm a few weeks back i've now noticed that i can smell what i think tp be rubber coming from the front drivers tyre, when it was lowered the garage aligned the wheels so i didnt think i would have any problems.. also it seems to be more distinctive when im breaking?

    any suggestions?

Double check its not powersteerring fluid, sometimes they can wear through the pipe if it has not been reloacted when lowered, mine did and that really smells!

    Just a thought

Does the wheel get hotter on that side more than the other side? This would suggest that the brake caliper/pads are sticking on the hot side. Make sure that the spring is still sitting correctly in the shockabsorber pan as the spring might have moved and could be sticking in the tyre! Worth a check.

Have you driven it since? It wont take long before the power steering bleeds itself completely, and your powersteering will go not long after that... Not trying to scare you but its what happened to me, hope you get to the bottom of it!
