Redex, STP...

   does i actually work?
   
   i know alot of people use it and i have in the past but i havnt noticed a difference in performance or sound of the engine

   i wouldnt use it because it lowers the compression ratios in the cylinders apparently thats wat i got told by a mechanic at the garage lol

   STP worked to good effect in my old 1.4 engine

   I think the reason you're not seeing any difference in performance or sound is because its not meant to give that, its meant to clean the injectors etc and keep your engine in good condition!
   
   However i imagine if an engine was in dodgy condition and wasn't running properly it would probably give an increase in performance because it'd be running better and more efficiently.

   Just bought some Redex for the Focus and I plan on using it when I service her, so I'm interested too.
   
   I was going to buy that SLICK 50 stuff, think it's £14.99 but I used it on my old Westcoast a couple of years (I got it given...must admit it worked).

   lol, does it suddenly change the size ofthe pistonsto lower compression?

   It seemed to run much smoother, and reduced the tapperty tapperty noise you generally get from the 8v's. Also made 83bhp with de-cat, induction kit on a 100k engine.
   
   Not sure if that had anything to do with the STP (doubt it)
