In all fairness, you don't really need to get aftermarket brakes and discs for a Saxo - unless you're planning on using the car on track. However if you want to go ahead with it, you could leave the standard discs and just uprate pads, such as getting Carbone Lorraine pads from KamRacing. That'd be a good enough setup for everyday road use. Heard good things about the Mintex stuff which you can get on eBay, and that isn't expensive. Other than that, as I say, unless you're taking it on a track - I wouldn't shell out a fortune on that upgrade.

Probably depends what other performance orientated mods you have done as to whether you can justify it or not i would say, either that or you just want some good brakes on the car because the standard saxo brakes for which ever model you have are very bad.

The only performance enhancing mod i have on my vtr at the moment is a supersprint race exhaust, but still uprated to the 206gti setup (266mm) with a set of goodridge braided hoses for better braking because the standards are so bad. As a result i would say its probably one of the best things i have ever bought in my life let alone for my car. Also the 266mm setup doesnt weigh alot and so doesnt play around with the feel of your car at all i would say as i didnt notice any difference after fitting just very good braking once bedded in, i used mintex discs and pads.

The bottom line is, if your thinking about uprating disks and pads youre obviously thinking about driving fast. Better brakes make for better control of the car and safety too tbh. Get the best setup you can afford. You could probably get the 266mm setup for around £100 all in, plus extra for hoses but they are not essential however definitly make a difference i loved them when i got them fitted.

    Sorry for essay
