Window Tinting

   Hi
   
   I want to have my windows tinted on my saxo, its a 1.1, not lowered (yet) and has no rims (yet) but i want the back 3 windows tinted but can't decide what shade.
   
   Cars red, very good condition.. Shiney (Polished like everyweek).. Mk1.. I was thiking like smoke.. Not sure what would look nice once its lowered.
   
   Also, Could i do the back windows my self (buying quality tint and spending time and effort) or paying a professional £££ to do it?

   Tbh it doesnt cost alot these days to get windows tinted so it may be worth taking it straight to the professionals
   
   And yes a light smoke looks best imo

   Or you could have blacked out, Limo tint on the back windows, or is this drawing attention to your self?
   
   You are allowed a light tint on the 2 side front windows? Windscreen is also allowed a VERY light tint too i beleive.. I'd leave that to professionals.
   
   Also.. If i did it my self.. how would i prep the glass? clean it with warm sopey water and white spirits?

   To clean the glass I would use a window cleaner with vinegar in as it helps cut through any dirt. There are other options when it comes to tinting, you may have seen the tints where the bottom half is red and the top half is silver or vice versa, these are perfectly legal for the three rear windows.
   In regards to the front side windows and the windscreen the tint is graded by how much light it lets through and the police are really hot on this, so really I wouldn't bother it'll be more hassle then it's worth.
   For finishing you should use like a clear nail varnish to seal up all the edges!! Hope this helps!

   personally mate i would take it to the pros
   i spent lots of money doing it
   and it was okay after like £80
   then ripped it all out

   prob be cheaper to pay pro's to do it instead buy gear n messin it up. not that i saying you will, it weather you want budget or quailty...

    i have amy saxo tinted all round.
    dark tint in the rear windows and light tint in the front.
    i find if you dont attract attention to yourself by spinning the wheels and accelerating hard up main streets then the cops wont bother with ya!
    ive never had any troble with them.

    i dont do that!! must have pull me in back window for only cops to see (not birds!)

    Your not allowed the front side or windscreen done at all, i had the lightest one on my 2 fron windows and had to rip them off the other week

    I'd like to do it my self to save the money, but where do you draw the line? Quality or Money? I mean i'm the sort of person who would do a propper job, buy the bestest cleaner and spending that little extra to make sure it sticks etc and like you said, clear nail varnish over the edges.

    I did the rear windows on mine my self and had a bit of trouble doing it was a bit of hastle but looks good. it cost me nothing to do really. if your bothered about the price do it your self but get some help doing it mate.

    ill say quality, is better to get it done by the pro's. You can mess is up, then your gonna have to start over again, start ripping them off. Is a pain in the a** if you do it yourself..

    I managed to do one window perfectly, then mucked up to other one, it really isnt easy, I just removed the rear two windows and did it on a flat surface indoors.

    give it a go mate, ive done all 4 side windows on mine and let a pro do the rear as its well hard. ive done a few m8s cars aswell and always leave the rear 4 a pro, just take time and be patient and u wont go wrong

    mate stay away from complete black out the police dont like it at all attracts them to your car and if u get full black at the back makes it look like a van with no windows ive got 35% at the front and then 45% at the back looks good mate and not been stopped yet
    the only thing is that they start to streak abit from ur windows goin up and down but that isnt as noticable from the outside of the car

    your car is not very good conition looooool sorry dan lol. at least get a set fo wheels first! not just a standard flat archer with hubs and limo tints.
    
    i know what to expect now dan.your gonna diss my vts loool. i know someone who does tints for 130 .let me know PROFFESIONAL
