Raceland Adjustable Coilover Suspension Kit

  1. #1
Anyone fitted these, how much do they lower the car by, and does the adjustable mean you can actually adjust the height yourself when they are on the car. If so is the adjusting easy to do. And what is the overall quaility of them like. Cheers
  2. #2
    they are height adjustable yes
the dampers aren't the best (there actually pretty poor)

i'm looking into a set and using proper dampers and springs as the full raceland setup is cheaper then just the coils by pugsport ect

but really there not up to much
if you run em fully down they will just keep bottoming out and that will eventually damage your topmounts

i did a thread on these but i cant find it as my search doesnt work.

basicaly they are shit but i did a guide to mod them, its on 106 owneres atm.
  4. #4
pete was it you who had the xsi and modded them?

thats a similar plan to what i wanna do if it is lol
  5. #5
yes mate, i had a nice post with pics and all but its gone.

ive been keeping my eye on ebay, if another set comes up cheap i cud be tempted to do it again lol

thats what im using on my saxo atm, 170lb springs, cant say if its a good set up cos i havent driven the car properly since fitting.

put gaz on my friends xsi couple weeks back and there on the shopping list for next time.

alex, when i say cheap i mean dirt cheap, paid 150 for my last set, im looking for less next time

i did ask about a set without dampers off him to try n get it cheaper but hes not replied lol

im thinking 150 or 160lb faulkners n apex dampers if i use em
  10. #10
id go for 180ish really, but depends what ur using it for? i wonder if faulkners can do a 2 1/4 spring to 3' that wud make it easier or just use a 3' spring and a top hat on the bottom to use the bigger spring, just need them custom made tho.

apex shocks will fit if you do the machining i talked about in the big thread, very little work but has to be done.

i had GAZ dampers on my nova, deffo going to be using them on the saxo.
  12. #12
Pete: cheers for the guide mate, took the threaded collar to a machinist and had the inards machined for my billies to fit!
    Already chucked the standard springs!
Be putting my order into faulkner tomoro for some 200lb 2.5 inch id 7inch springs!
  13. #13
As i've said before. Unless you plan on modifying them (and have the patience and extra cash and time to do so) dont bother. As they come they're virtually useless. I had mine on a week and sent them back. Worst thing I ever bought for my car.

are they really this bad? i want to upgrade my front suspension and been offered some koni adjustabele shocks, or a set of raceland coilies. or get both and combine them if its possible??
  15. #15
combine both but get some faulkner springs.
  16. #16
i think this is what im going to do mate. the koni shocks going to be ok with the rest of the raceland stuff?
  17. #17
    are pugsport any good?
  18. #18
yes pugsport are very good but expensive!
  19. #19
just use the raceland threaded sleeve and spring cups, then fit your koni dampers and your faulkner springs.

ok mate. thanks a lot. what springs do you reccomend cause dont faulkner do lots of different. want to handle well, and be low ish lol
  21. #21
get about 170lb 7 inch springs tom

itll be low and pretty stiff (jp runs 170 it felt quite nice on road and holds up on track too)
  22. #22
the spring with the kit arnt truly that bad.

if someone can do a search and bring back up my old thread on these im sure itll help alot of ppl thinking of getting the kit.

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=161851 there you go pete
  24. #24
cheers nick, ill get that back to the top.
  25. #25
yea they feel to be reasonable in lees vtr that its on

but the sax is heavier than the xsi pete so they do feel a little soft

tbh 170lb is pretty hard but being that low i rekon its needed just to stop bottoming (im thinking for a 16v motor aswell as im looking into em on my 106gti)
