What Brakes have i actually got????

Ive been reading a few brake pad threads on here and other sites.

When reading the sticky by AlexR on here about the different types of 266mm setups there are i looked at the pictures of the pads he had posted and then compared them to the pics i had of the pads i last took out. they dont match up!!!

have a look at the pictures of the pad in THIS link under the 266mm setup

and then try match them up to the pics of the pads i have

not the best pic in the worls but you get the idea

also look at th "MBD" number on the box, it doesnt match up to any of the pads in the first link

any ideas?

306 2.0 16v thats what i have them showing up as on one site.

Will check a few more sites for you to be 100%

also got them showing up as 405 models

http://www.mintex.co.uk/ then click online catalogue on the right good site for future refference. Link may not work but al edit it.
i would trust that as more reliable than other ones i have tried.

Was only one site said 306 the rest are showing as 405's.

any idea of the year? Make of caliper they go into, e.g Lucas, ATE, Bendix?

There the discs for the 405, not sure if they are the discs you have fitted to your saxo mind.

iirc ive gone for the 206 gti discs but havnt got the 206 gti calipers but cant remember if the pads in the pic are for a 206 gti?????

even if you google it they only show for 405's and the one site for a 306.
they are deffo not 206gti pads dude 100%. as they either have the small ring clips on the very ends either side of the pad.

Or no clips at all.
yours have some sort of clip in the middle.

i have another good link somewhere still going through my list

It says on the box they're for a 405, from '87 onwards. If they fitted any others, it'd say it on there.

There off a 405 mi16, ive just bought a set of mi16 calipers. Think there also the same as 306 s16, tis what i found out neway, before giving up and getting berlingo calipers. if u want discs u will need the ones off a 306 s16 i think, Tis what i was told in a different thread

There are two different heights/offset of discs Will need to measure the old one to find out which u have.

The part numbers are the same between s16 and 405 mi16. Thats as far as i got before i found out the mountings were different between the saxo and 405, which meant i needed to buy 20mm bigger carriers to take the calipers..... bit of a game.
