Vtr air feed best/worst debate??

Basically who runs what on their 8v? It has to be 8v though no 16v's sorry guys.

Im currently running a green panel filter on my Y reg 3 plug 98 bhp vtr and have been told that this is the best thing to do as the 8v doenst respond well to enclosed induction.

So whos got what on their vtr? What gains did you notice?

Would also be interested in hearing from anyone who had a panel filter and then went onto an enclosed system? Did you see any further gains etc?

    Thanks

    Got a K&N 57i on my vtr,
I noticed that the throttle response was much better than the standard box and panel.
And it does sound ace when you accelerate

However i am thinking about getting an enclosed raceland with a Green filter??

Had a BMC on the VTR, didnt really make any noticeable diff on its own.

I had the air pipe behind the grille like most, then i moved it to the front left foglight hole.

    Still no diff.

A much better setup, and i wish i had done this, would be a ported throttle body from spencer cammed VTS with a green cotton filter to replace the standard one.

Not only would it be less than £100, i bet it would give the same gains as any induction kit. Just not the noise.

Yes i see, but would an induction kit actually be any better that just the replacement panel filter in the first place man? This is what i am trying to gauge. Spooks motorsport said to me they have found that the 8v engines work better with standard air intake and just a good quality replacement filter.

i had the oe setup with a green filter inside, got rid of the crap pipework that had the resinator on and fitted a pipe from an axgt and used some flexi pipe to the front oe scoop, didnt feel any change from the standard set up nor in noise. now run a green enclosed and the responce is a fraction better but the noise it makes is good. to be honest its works better with the full exhaust system with a 4 branch manifold. but thats just my opinion.

i think you get a more throttle response its abit more respoonsive on the pedal that how it feels to me anyways tats for an enclosed green...

you get better gains useing better air feeds, the cooler the air entering the tb the better performane you will get, so keep your air feeds away from hot things under the bonnet, the best induction kits, are the ones with the better designed air feeds, i lag my air feeds to keep the heat out, i personally use the standard airbox with a modified air intake, because the standard one is shite.

i want to upgrade my panel filter and air feed too, maybe a larger intake duct too? anyone recommend a good place to get these?

I am wanting do mine i have seen one ebay you get the cone filter air feed but in the air feed there is a little fan but i dont know if they are any good ?.

what size air ducting do you use for the standard vtr air box?
