Janspeed vs Raceland Mani

  1. #1
For a 2001 MK2 VTR (2 lambda sensors) i cant decide on which to choose, do u still have the problems of moving the oil filter wif the janspeed? whats the noise and power difference between them???? need peoples views and opinions please

a mani is a mani, so would go for raceland as its cheaper but will be harder to fit.
  3. #3
from kamracing atm theres a discount for saxp members and there £130 +vat same as the raceland mate so thats whats making me think bowt the janspeed, is there oil filter problems wif the janspeed, and does the janspeed have 2 lambda holes?
  4. #4
The janspeed is 10000 times better fit, there is the oil filter problem but it isnt hard to sort out, all aftermarket manifolds have 1 hole for a lambda, the other will need to be sleeved!
  5. #5
aint the Janspeeds Aluminium, where as the Raceland is stainless steel, therefore producing different sounds?
  6. #6
well i think the janspeed is alumised mild steel but i have a full mild steel system atm, 3" ashley comp back box and supersprint centre pipe so was thinking a mild steel mani is just as good to go wif my system why do u still have to relocate the oil filter wif the janspeed? and what do you do about the oil pressure switch aswell?

Get neither and save for piper /supersprint.
  8. #8
i cant realli as my front pipe is snapped atm on bottom of mani requires a new mani, so im just either guna get janspeed or raceland dont av the funds for either piper/supersprint even tho i would like one, unless i can get one second hand.

My supersprint mani has two holes for the lambda sensors

Ive goe mates that has got the raceland mani and its a sh*t fit, some have had to file away the holes for it to got on the engine!! You got what you pay for

janspeed out of those two for me.
Isnt much price difference at all.
  11. #11
thanks steve, wat about noise difference between both of them considering i already have a full mildsteel cat back system.

The raceland is stainless where as the janspeed is mild steel, there is a small sound diffrence i would of thought!
  13. #13
    Mild steel doesnt crack either!

barely be a notice in sound mate.
  15. #15
i think im guna go for the janspeed and heatwrap it be different every1 has raceland and i just want to try somet different out, im not particularly fussed that the janspeed is mild steel the heatwrap will protect that little bit extra anyway and it must do somet to improve performance i cant w8, just awaiting my ashley back box now, POTN are takin the michael delivering it !! lol

i think equipped wif my supersprint race centre and ashley back box it should sound mint !

    Paul
  18. #18
You still will have to move the oil filter to mk1 position, and you can get a lambda sleeve from GMCmotorsport.co.uk there 15 quid + p&p
  19. #19
ok thanks nick, what do i do about the oil pressure switch then? do i have to buy a new one or just simply move it?

  24. #24

  25. #25
    supersprint ...................
  26. #26
Supersprint is about twice as much though, Id go for Janspeed had one on mine and it does make a vast improvement plus its black no shiny whore stuff for me

Get the Janspeed, and paint it with exhaust paint - corrosion problem solved

They are a great fit too, on the mk1 it's plug and play.

hes got mk2 though aint he
  31. #31
Yeah i also have a MK 2 VTR and i need of a mani have about £250 to spend but have MOT on 7th of Feb and cat pipe is shagged i belive so dont think will pass emissions so what manifold would be best?

Im thiking the Janspeed with sports cat or not?
  32. #32
Also any fitting issues with this?
  33. #33
the sport cat version is realy good still. The cat has half the number of cells of the o/e version and shouldn't effect performance as much.

keeps the car road legal too

No but it does rust badly if you heatwrap it

use a paint instead and it will be fine.
  36. #36
What like black hammerite then wrapping, or using that ceramic coating shizzle?
  37. #37
will it clear the oil filter? or will it need moving?
  38. #38
what does the 'heat wrap' actually do?
