Sorry guys it another turbo question

Right basically I have done alot of research into this now so I dont want people saying that I need to think about it or drop a vts lump in as I have considered both.

Basically I want to run a turbo setup on my VTR but at very low boost just to iron out a few flat spots, now im thinking the bare minimum I need is:

Turbo
Turbo Pipes
Lots of samco
Oil Cooler
Already have a catch tank
Intercooler
Turbular Manifold
Management (unichip?) mapped to run boost
5th injector setup

Now can you let me know if you think theres anything I am missing I have brakes, suspension and a new clutch sorted.

Do I really need to uprate internals i.e pistions, conrods? if I am planning on running very low boost?

Sorry for another turbo thread but unlike most on here I'm not a dreamer I want to make sure its done properly but I'm not looking for massive gains just a little bit of extra performance.

All help greatly appreciated.

i would of thought you could run about 6psi on that ? with stock internals, sounds like your doing a HMT ( hom made turbo) i wouldnt mind doing somthing like this one day source the turbo cooler ect myself 2nd hand ect try make a cheap low boost turbo system, thers a guy on her that braggs his mate does one like what i said for around 500 but no oil cooler or intercooler :/

Yeah I have seen it, there is no way I would run a turbo without an intercooler its just madness and in a way it will be a HMT but with good parts and done well rather than something that looks like you just found a load of pipes from the shed like his one does.

I will happily uprate internals if need be but with what im planning im not sure its worth it?

how much of a BHP increase will 6psi get you? i would of thought youd get more power from some decent cams and a remap?

not a massive amount and it depends on how wild the cams are and other mod and also how good the map is to be honest

You don't need a 5th injector if your running a unichip. But you do have to get the boost modual for the uni ship. You are also going to have to get a map sensor that can see boost. You will also want a high rate FPR. That and a sump for your oil return.

Very low boost and we are talking very low you really stock engine is fine. A low cost and reliable way to run a bit more boost is to simple use twin head gaskets. Many people have done this with no problems.

Don't forget you cant just stick any old turbo on though. For example you many get a T3 turbo Metro Turbo Escort Cossie. But the Cossie turbo is massive and the metro turbo is tiny. But you don't really want a T3 but the same applies with most turbos. You also cant use most turbos of diesel cars as many can not take the higher temperatures and corrosive gasses from a petrol engine.

what is a unichip? and where do you get one from and what kind of map sensor did you need for 6psi? and whats a boost module?

unichip as in dastec.

chris the cams wont affect the power you will be getting like NA tuning.
as ax said atleast twin headgaskets maybe low comps.
just decide on what power you would like and work from there. do it right the first time because you will want more power if you dont go that bit further when you start

and how much is dastek? im confused about the fueling situation whats the best cheaper option to go for i mean cheap but still good like you said get it right first time? im planning around 6psi aswell but im stuck on the fueling, how much will it cost to go mf2 option with 5th injector and what do i need?

the chip doesnt cost that much. it the mapping on top. so maybe 4-500. im not really clued up on boost, your best bet is to speak to axracing, tweeqd on here who have done it all.
