Coolant temp sensor

   I have a 2000 vts and have been told i need to change the sensor that is sticking out from the back of the water pump
   
   Is this the right one?

   That is the correct one. Ordered and fitted one of these myself within the last week, think i ordered it from there too and it arrived quickly.
   
   However its the thermostat housing on the side of the cylinder head where it goes, nowhere near the water pump (just incase you havn't looked and arent familiar with where it is)

   I know this may be gravedigging a bit but didnt see the point in making a new thread. I just bought one of these off of ebay and i think it may be wrong . I have the next stage engine, as its a 52 plate. Does this mean the sensor i have bought is wrong or im trying to swap the wrong sensor? From above it is the blue sensor to the right of the rocker cover.

   there 2 different sensors blue and green
   
   green 1338a7
   
   blue 1338a6

   Different sensors for the different engines or do you mean that the green one goes elsewhere? Considering mine is the third engine.
