Vts conversion problem

Got the following:
2000 VTS engine (same year as the car)
Engine Loom
Single Plug ECU
Immobiliser Box
Key and transponder pick up around the ignition barrell

The problem is that the engine loom has a much bigger connection to the car loom is there a different vts loom i can get with a smaller connection to fit the car?

Also the bloke sorting out my car said i need the security module but do i need the one that is for the engine or will any work?

You sure it was a 2000 vts engine and not a 2000 106 gti engine? i no that the gti loom has a different size connector! I am not sure if the vts had different sized looms! This would be interesting to know as im converting my vtr in a few weeks! i have 2 vts looms lined up so ill have to hope one fits!

If you have to key, transponder, and barrel with the immobiliser you sshould be all set!

Yea im pretty sure it was a VTS engine and not a GTI.

Oh and found out aswel that the box sent is not the immobiliser box and something to do with the alarm.

Do i need to get the ecu unlocked now as the breaker yard no longer have the car it came from?

if you have the key and barrel you should be alright, would be worth trying it before getting the ecu unlocked as its another £80-100

Hmm well looks like there may have been different looms it appears i will be able to let you know in a few weeks when i do my conversion! Im not much help till then im affraid!

If they did not send you the immoboliser there is nothing you can do about that! You will have to get the ecu unlocked now!
