Clock to Rev Counter

  1. #1
Right, i've got a mk1 Saxo 1.1. It has the speedometer and to the right of that, instead of having a rev counter, it has a massive clock. If i get a new console thingy from the scrappy, will i need to do more wiring to wire up the rev counter and is it pretty hard to do?

    Cheers. Lloyd.

There is a guide somewhere, have a search for it.

I did this to my car. Had a pathetic clock. I removed the dials and replaced them with VTR dials, also got the temperature gauge to work (Not a hard job to do at all)

And yes, i did swap the mileage clocks over from my old clocks into the VTR clocks.

basically make sure you replace an anolouge one with an analogue one
also check if the speedo is cable driven or electronic then its literally unplug and plug the new one in

    guide: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho....1+rev+counter

To get tachometer to work you have to add in a cable from the ECU to the back of the dials.

Mines stopped working, cable must have come loose. my soldering wasnt too good

No, it wont make any difference mate. I just had to re-calibrate my needle a tad then got someone to stick at 30MPH and see what my speedo said and worked it out from there on.

Nope. All electronic off the gearbox. 205's / AX's etc had cable driven.

I've had the instrument cluster off a few times on my mk1 and all there is behind it is 5 plugs and no speedo/rev counter cable.

106's had cable between 1991 and 1995 with "superior" trim levels having electric speedo.

    All saxos are electric.
