mk1 oil filter on a mk2, Oil Pressure Sensor question?

    could someone explain more about the Oil Pressure Sensor? what do you do when you remove it? and is it the sensor in the middle of the block?

    i think im sorted with the actuall filter now but any advice wecome


    rite i havent had any awnsers about the oil filter in my other thread so ill ask about this in its own threas as i would like to kno by tomorrow,

    im putting a mk1 manifold on my mk2 1.1, so i need to put a mk1 oil filter on so the lambra sensor dosent catch on the oilfilter, could someone please lable the picture for me so i kno what hole needs tapping with an m10 tap and filled with an m10 bolt?


    i couldnt find an m10 screw so i got some bolts and ill cut the head off, ive got everything i need to do this now so i need help

    see in that link above mate. look at the 7th picture, above the oil filter half way up on the engine block. thats the oil pressure switch and where to put it.

    what do you mean were to put it mate? is it somewere else origonally? and is it just being removed or moved so it dosent get melted on the manifold?

    i appolagise for all the questions but as you can probabbly tell im very slow lol but if ppl can bear with me ill get it eventually

    see on your original oil filter when you removed the 3 or 4 bolts to take it off. the sensor will be attached to it still . so you unscrew it and move it to the block so it works the same. otherwise if you don`t your oil light will be on all the time. hope that made sence

    yea it dose mate but were dose it have to be moved to? lol,

    exactly where it is in that picture. has a orange wire going to it

    ahhh rite i thought that was summin else, how dose it fit in? is there a hole with a thread already there? or dose it need tapping?

    there`s like a bolt in place. it just unscrews but its quite tight. i used mole grips to get it out. and your sensor will just screw in place.

    rite ive done it now, so thans for everyones help,

    but lol, i took the rad and fan off, then the thermostat off and flushed the system and the fan dosent seem to be kicking in, any ideas why? ive not driven it yet just tryed it on tick over?

    the fan is sorted now,

    now the mani is fittedit dosent sound as good but proformance is a little bit better so im happy, should i get a new backbox now as i only have a vtr bac box
