Important! : :(:( rear beam??

   hi everyone i drive a v reg mark2 vts lowered 80mm and for the past two weeks ive been getting this noise as i can only describe as a chain being dragged behind me as i drive (but not when i acclerate) and my rear wheel is leaning in a little bit at the top (drivers side) now ive been told its my rear beam gone but i always thought that if your rear beam goe`s there wont be any noise? if this is correct why is there noise coming from mine? (also the noise goes when i dip the clutch?)
   
   any ideas?
