Turbo?

#2You have to upgrade your engine with low compression pistons or a decomression plate, your fuel system with larger injectors or extra injectors and probably high pressure fuel pump, your management system, your map sensor,...
And off course the turbo and manifold. -
#4Another n00b asking about turboing their vts.
Are you actually going to do it? As you will need very deep pockets to do it properly like £3000++
EDIT: This like will help alot on asking questions...www.I'man00bdotcom.com -
#5i tried to do a low budget set up but u wont be happy with the results... to make you satisfied you will spend a min of £3000
when my is finished in october i will have spent 2500 and thats buyin the kit of my mate... still will be another 1200 to forge it. so as much as you try dont expect it to be cheap!!! -
#6its not cheap to do it wright as im finding out my self. best to work out what parts you want first then start pricing them up and go from there
-
#7u dnt need deep pockets u need a bit of nowledge we av just dun a westcoast and it will be aproxx 170 bhp wen cum bak from noble motorsport n the turbo setup as cost us bwt 100£Quote:Another n00b asking about turboing their vts.

as for the conversion youl need to ugrade these parts
injectors
ecu/fueling mf2 etc
lc pistons
maybe conrods depending how much boost.
crank should be ok
maybe bigger rad if the engines running hot and or oil cooler.
remember also youl need to run oil lines to and from the turbo.
obv youl need the turbo kit aswell -

#15Everyday or so there is a different thread asking about turboing their car. How many turbo saxo's are on the site?Quote:what's newbie about asking what to upgrade?what does it matter if he actually goes along with it or not,it's all learning, iam not interested in going forced induction on mine but iam still interested in it and how people do the conversion's etc.dont think he asked about price btw

If you want to learn about it, search and you will get the answer as its been covered about 127965876234 times
Price was there as guidance as people dont realise how much it will actually cost

ditto the above the amount of shite thats gets asked on this everyday is stupid. You only have to scroll down or got o page 2 to see loads of threads. I am all for helping out but when people can't even be bothered to talk in normal english I draw the line.
I can probably name on both hands the lads that are doing the conversion and name easily 3 that just ask constant same shit questions all the time but other peoples threads.
What people dont realise with doing a turbo is what their final spec will be? Best way to spec a turbo up is to think how much power, weekend only or daily use or track only use? Once thats been decided you can spec the conversion properly. -
#19All hail the boosted owners club. Ha. A place of peace where there will be no turbo spam. People serious about it will find more than enough help and advice. Others that are just interested can read the guide that we are putting together for turbocharged and supercharged saxo's. Then if they still ask stupid questions and start the same thread over and over, we need to start opening the woop ass on themQuote:Everyday or so there is a different thread asking about turboing their car. #21im not turboing my car just bought some new rods for fun
-
#22the 3 people pretty obvious sliderz lol but the 1 of them jesus christ like a wasp up your arse
-
#24lol at this thread, tis true though,
-
#25Ive never actualy been stung eh. Which makes it worse when a wasp is flying round me. Give off a little scream, thrashing of the hands and run off ha. The pain of a sting to me is unknown to me. Which multiplies the fear x10 lol
-
#26as said I am happy to help everyone no problems just gets on my rather large tits if the same question is asked over and over and over after you have just answered it lol
-
#28We in the process of sorting a 'how to' guide to turbocharging so hopefully the turbo questions will stop and you can have a rest lol
-
#30Yeah i know. Iam going to try an express as much as i can in the guide that this job can not be done for 500quid like their mate down the road has done thats getting 200bhp out of his saxo lol.. Might take abit to get together but will get it up asap.
-
#31You would amazed if you looked into 16v turbo setups n DIY keep eye on my blog as some interesting things happening on that one
-
#32Brakes/suspension aswel to factor aswel as a decent exhaust!
-
#34I will say now the cost of doing a 16v turbo conversion even low boost @ 6psi you are looking at 2k min to do it. Andy and myself worked something out and well even for all the basics for it to be a good conversion parts alone supply only came to something like £1300.
In all honesty you need to budget 2.5k to even have a chance if DIY much more if company -
#35definatley willing to give a hand with the guide when it comes to it, wil have plenty pics from my conversion to help out along with im sure others for things that may not have been captured by yourself
-
#36Yeah iam glad your up for it mate. I go away for 2weeks this weekend so doubt i will be writing one anytime soon. Iam iam deffo after peoples pics to go in the guide as my collection is abit limeted. Wil talk more soon anyway.
