engine conversion

hi folks, i have just registered as a member and am enjoying my new purchase of a vtr. it was dirt cheap as the engine has failed. i am looking to fit a 1.9 gti engine and box but wondered if any one has done this and if so how straight forward it is or is there a better conversion to go for??

personally i wouldnt see much point in that like with most of the conversions

the 1.9 motor is only about 140 hp
ans youll need to customise everything

i would get a vts lump and breathing mods for similar power and a lot more ease

As Alex said, might as well get the vts or 106GTi engine, similar power with a it of money spent on it which would be cheaper and easier to be put in. I.E. Dont need custom mounts etc etc.

allthough a 205 lump would be funky lol

tbh with a lot of the swaps into a saxo there isnt much point unless you go for either a vtec or i saw a mitsubishi lump the other day stuff like that
something jap with about 200hp and not too heavy lol
that way it then evens out between several k on custom parts and power but has the added reliability over a highly strung tu (ie you could still use the car daily)

mostly its wether you decide its worth the effort at the end of the day

Evo engine, Hmmmm that would be very interesting. Would that be a front mounted one or rear? You got a link to that dude. Wouldnt mind having a read of that.
