Right, so about a week ago, i was at some traffice lights on the way home, lights changed, put my foot on accelerator, moved off, revved up to about 2-3k and then nothing, the revs dropped, the engine spluttered and i had to changed gear to get any accleration. I then continued to accelerate and then again about 2-3k it did the same. It did it through every gear at same revs.
Took it to the garage the next day, they put there maintence tester machine on it and said there was a fault recorded in the Idle Control Valve Circuit. He said he re-set it and said that should do it, if it doesnt, then you'll need a new Throttle Body.
It didnt do it. Its still doing it now and it feels like its getting worse, every gear, 2-3k RPM and thats not all. When i start up the car, the revs go up, then immediatly it drops back down, and usually splutters and stalls. If it does stay ticking over, it idles below 1000 RPM. About 4-500 rpm.
Now Iv been looking to get a new throttle body from a scrappies but no luck so far, so before i go on an epic hunt i need some advice to know if it is definately that as to me (and some others iv asked) it seems more like a problem with the fuel injectors or pump.
I need the car urgently for work so every day its off the road im loosing money.
Answers asap please as i really need to know whats wrong with it so i can get parts and fix it.
