Exhausts?????!!!>!>?

lol ive been looking into a few exhausts but im a bit confused...

where is the cat on a MK2 VTR ??

also whats my best option ive been looking into the super sprint systems

and also i have been looking into the exhausts that www.saxsport.co.uk supply what do people think will be my best bet...

also i have read a bit about a "dummy cat" on the sax sport site whats this all about ive herd i cant pass my mot with a decat aswell which i wanna do... also i dont want the exhaust to be really loud but i dont want to loose power at the same time...

ive done a few searches ont he forum already too

Your cat is in your manifold so you dont need to worry about passing an mot with an aftermarket exhaust system
A dummy cat is just a cylinder with nothing in it to look like a cat

what happens when i want to change my manifold though (N) there is alot of restricition in there isnt there ??

Take the old one off, but the 4 branch on. But keep it handy for when MOT time comes, and then just put it back on for the MOT

hmm ill look into them further for the mani but what about the actuasl cat back systems i put above what would you says the best option??

it depends on which engine you have in the mk2 vtr 98bhp has cat in mani, 90bhp has cat under car check this link if you have the same engine as the second pic your cat is under the car

Well i loved my supersprint exhaust when on my vts and could notice a difference.

Never had the saxport but apparently they give just as good results as the supersprint

Which one do you prefer the look of? lol

If you want a good system for sound and performance increase, just get this;

Cat back system

Manifold

Cost you a few quid, but it'l be worth it. And just get a dodgey MOT

Id wait if i were you as KamRacing are developing a new exhaust system, new and improved version of the already good version they have sold out of.

Theres alot of interest in this, as people know it will be very good quality.

With that exhaust and the manifold you should say 2-3 bhp increase (which you probably wont feel) however your throttle will feel alot more responsive, aswell as the nice sound

To be honest the VTR is strangled by its exhaust system. With a manifold and exhaust system you usually get over 10bhp which is pretty good.

yea ive seen this thread.... been thinking of waiting for that aswell... with that package in that thread will there be a possible exhaust system with a cat??? or sports cat as an all in one price or even by bit by bit?? also has any real figures of gain been given yet by any chance?

If you want the best performance gains i wouldnt get it with a CAT in. Just get a straight through. It will more than likely come with a version available with a cat (not too sure on a sports cat though, kam can clarify.).

Apparently the vtr exhaust systems are very restrictive so your looking at a 10bhp increase with the manifold and cat back system (dramatic increase you will be able to feel) Aswell as a much improved throttle responce.

its just with the mot and things is it worth having it dcat'ed ?? n doesnt it make it even louder?? im not wanting a really loud exhaust but still wanting less restriction

get a decat mani and get hold of a mk2 vts cat and centre section. put that on for mot (its under the car and has a hole for the lambda) its much easier than changing a mani over

Saxosport mate!

Ive got one on my VTS its lovellllyy! Loud .. but not too loud but definetly a big improvement! Plus you get all the spitting popping and banging!

Saxsport all the way!
